South Korea holds talks on joining AUKUS pact

South Korea has held talks about joining part of the AUKUS defence deal between the U.S., Britain and Australia.

This comes just weeks after the pact said it would consider including Japan.

U.S. House to vote on whether to consider ousting another Speaker next week


U.S. Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene said on Wednesday she is moving ahead on a vote to oust House Speaker Mike Johnson.

He's only been in the role six months after the former Speaker was kicked out by his own - Republican - party.

Tensions remain high at Columbia after mass arrests of pro-Palestinian protesters

Tensions remain high at Columbia University a day after New York City police arrested over a hundred pro-Palestinian protesters, some of whom had taken over a building on campus.


The decision to clear the protesters came after University officials asked the police department for help.


New York City mayor Eric Adams blamed "outside agitators" who he says were helping lead the campus protests.


Columbia student Alex Gilkarov praised the police operation, saying the environment had become unsafe for Jewish students.

Civil War era abortion ban repealed in Arizona

Lawmakers in Arizona's Senate have voted to repeal a Civil War era ban on abortion - after the state's Supreme Court allowed it to stand last month. The law would have gone into effect next month. The repeal now heads to the Democratic Governor's desk - who is expected to sign it into law.. Toni Waterman has more.

"Time is now" for Gaza ceasefire deal, says top US diplomat

"The time is now" for a deal between Israel and Hamas, according to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. 


America's top diplomat is finishing yet another Middle East tour aimed at agreeing a ceasefire in Gaza.


Secretary Blinken says "there is a proposal on the table" which would bring about a truce in return for the release of remaining Israeli hostages still held in the war-torn territory.

Former Trump aide Steve Bannon due in court over "Build the Wall" fraud allegations

A former senior advisor to Donald Trump, Steve Bannon, is set to appear in court in New York on Wednesday over allegations that he defrauded people who donated to the campaign to build a wall along the US Mexico border.


Bannon has pleaded not guilty to charges of money laundering, conspiracy and scheming to defraud in connection with $15 million in donations.

At least a 100 Delhi schools receive bomb threat email, probe underway

At least a hundred schools in New Delhi and neighbouring satellite towns received a bomb threat email in the early hours of Wednesday.

Several schools were evacuated, while many announced closure after receiving the threats over email.

A probe is underway by local police as well as federal investigative agencies.

Indian MP accused of sexual assault summoned for questioning
