Potential breakthrough in talks between protesting farmers and Indian government

Protesting farm unions in India have extended the pause on their protest for another two days, after a fourth round of talks with central ministers offered the potential of a breakthrough.

For a week, thousands of farmers have been held off from marching to New Delhi in the north Indian region of Punjab.

Last week farmers clashed with security officials, who used tear gas shells to stop the farmers 200 kilometers away from the national capital.

White House Blames fall of Avdiivka on dwindling ammunition and "congressional inaction"

US President Joe Biden blames Russian President Vladimir Putin for Alexei Navalny death

US President Joe Biden says his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin is "responsible" for the death of Russia's opposition leader Alexei Navalny. 

In a press conference at the White House, Mr Biden said he's "outraged" but "not surprised" by the news, though he stopped short of calling it an "assassination."

Navalny died aged 47 on Friday in an Arctic Circle penal colony, according to the country's prison service. 

He was poisoned before being arrested and prosecuted in Russia, and was serving 19 years in jail on extremism charges that are viewed by many Western nations as politically motivated.

Internet suspended in India's northeastern region of Manipur again

Two people have died and at least 25 injured in fresh violence in India's Manipur state.
