UK'S RWANDA SCHEME TO FACE FRESH CHALLENGES

The UK's controversial Rwanda immigration scheme now faces a battle in Parliament's upper chamber.

The plan passed a key vote of MPs on Wednesday.

It would see some asylum seekers sent to Rwanda, in a bid to act as a deterrent against illegal immigration.

The opposition Labour Party says it's unworkable and has already cost hundreds of millions of dollars.

Former justice secretary Sir Robert Buckland says the legislation still faces challenges.
