India's women's commission releases new report on crimes against women in the country

India's National Commission for Women has released a new report saying that over 28,000 complaints on crimes against women were registered in 2023.

Most of the complaints were in the right to dignity category that involves harassment other than domestic violence.

COVID-19 cases rise in India

India reported close to 600 cases of Covid-19 in 24 hours which includes about 200 cases of the new Omicron sub-variant JN.1.

In response to the uptick, the Indian government has urged state governments to remain vigilant and prepared.  

Some states have reintroduced mandatory wearing of masks in public places.

More court documents to be unsealed this week naming Jeffrey Epstein's associates

Several court documents regarding Jeffrey Epstein's associates are to
be unsealed this week with Former President Bill Clinton and Prince
Andrew expected to be named.
In 2019 Epstein committed suicide in his jail cell in Manhattan while

British Military in Red Sea Ready to Repel Houthi Attacks, Says Defence Secretary

India launched its first satellite to study black holes

US Navy helicopters sinks Houthi boats in the Red Sea after commercial ship attack

The United States Navy says it has sunk three boats operated by Iran backed Houthi militants after they fired on a commercial ship in the Red Sea.

US Central Command said they were responding to a distress call from the Maersk Hangzhou.

UN condemns attack on Ukraine

The United Nations Secretary-General has condemned Russia's missile
and drone attack on Ukraine in the strongest terms.

At least 30 people died and at least 160 people were injured in one of
the largest aerial bombardments since Moscow launched its full-scale
invasion in February 2022.

Ukraine “needs funding now” says US Ambassador

That's the plea from the United States's Ambassador to Ukraine, who posted the message to X, formerly known as Twitter.
