Five more US military bodies found after Japan Osprey crash

The US military has discovered five more bodies after an Osprey crashed in west Japan last week, bringing the death toll to six.  


The aircraft was carrying eight military personnel when it plummeted into the sea off Yakushima Island. 


Two remain missing.

US stocks down ahead of jobs data

US stocks were down on Monday, retreating from last week's gains.


All eyes are on job data due out this week, ahead of the Federal Reserve's next rate meeting.

UN Secretary General gravely concerned about the escalation of violence in the Middle East

United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Guterres says he is
extremely alarmed by the resumption of hostilities between Israel and
Hamas.
Fighting between the two sides intensified on Friday following several
days of reprieve.
The UN's relief agency chief has also sounded the alarm saying the
number of civilians killed in Gaza "is rapidly increasing".

UN event condemns sexual violence on Oct 7

Israel's ambassador to the United Nations has condemned women's rights groups for not speaking out over sexual violence carried out on October 7.


Speaking at an event at the UN headquarters in New York, Gilad Erdan said Hamas militants used rape as a weapon of war during their attack on Israel.


Almost two months later, some Jewish and Israeli campaigners say women's organisations have still not taken action.

Former US Diplomat arrested on accusations of being a Cuban special agent

A former U.S diplomat has been arrested for allegedly working as a Cuban agent.

U.S. running out of money for military aid to Ukraine unless Congress acts

India's south eastern coast gets battered by heavy rain, as a cyclone brews in Bay of Bengal

Heavy rains have battered India's southeastern coast with a severe cyclonic storm in the Bay of Bengal expected to make landfall on Tuesday.

The South Indian city of Chennai has come to a grinding halt, with several flights and trains cancelled, and large sections of the city heavily waterlogged.

Police continue to question Paris stabbing suspect after fatal attack

The suspect in a fatal stabbing attack that took place in Paris on December 2 is cooperating with authorities, according to the French government.

A German-Filipino national died, and two other people were injured in the knife and hammer attack on Saturday near the Eiffel Tower.

TANZANIA FLOOD DEATHS

Severe flooding and landslides have killed at least 47 people and wounded 85 others in northern Tanzania's Manyara.

Regions like the capital Dar es Salaam and Kigoma, Kagera, Geita, and Unguja received higher than usual rainfall, leading to deaths and property destruction.

Maldives claims India agrees to withdraw soldiers from island nation

Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu claims India has agreed to withdraw 75 soldiers posted in his country.

Japan's troubled space agency eyes Mars voyage delays
