First visuals of Indian workers trapped in a tunnel for 10 days

More than ten days in, the first images of the 41 workers trapped in a collapsed tunnel in India's Uttarakhand region have emerged.

 

An endoscopic camera was inserted through a pipe that is being used to send food to the workers. The men can be heard inquiring about the progress of the rescue, saying it was getting harder to survive.

US carrier docks in South Korea as North Korea says will launch satellite

CUE: An American aircraft carrier has docked in South Korea as Washington, Seoul and Tokyo show solidarity ahead of the launch of a North Korean satellite.

 

Pyongyang says the rocket will be fired between Wednesday, and the first of December.

Citigroup continues layoff plan

Rosalynn Carter funeral set for Wednesday

The funeral of former First Lady Rosalynn Carter will take place on Wednesday in the town of Plains, Georgia.

The wife of former President Carter, died Sunday at the age of 96 at her home in Plains, shortly after she entered hospice care, having been diagnosed with dementia in March.

Premature babies evacuated from Gaza as hostage negotiations continue

28 premature babies have crossed into Egypt after they were evacuated
from a surrounded hospital in Gaza.

They were rescued from al-Shifa hospital in Gaza City which is
occupied by Israeli forces, with gun battles continuing around the
building.

It comes as hostage negotiations are ongoing, with the hope that Hamas
will release dozens of people taken captive six weeks ago.

Delhi relaxes restrictions, but air quality still very poor across the capital

Rescuers adopt new plans to save trapped Indian construction workers


Forty workers have been trapped in a collapsed tunnel in India's Uttarakhand region for more than a week now.  

Rescue operations have hit one snag after another and now officials say it could still be another 4 to 5 days before the trapped workers can be safely rescued.

Indian fans left heartbroken as Australia beat India to win the Cricket World Cup

Hopes of a billion Indians were dashed as Australia beat host India in the Men's Cricket World Cup final on Sunday night.

 

Australia, who have now lifted the World Cup six times, won by six wickets.

 

The match was played in the world's largest stadium in the western Indian state of Gujarat where close to 120,000 fans gathered to watch the match that ended in heartbreak for Indian fans.

N Korea criticizes US arms sale to Japan, S Korea
