Farm fires continue in North India as Delhi struggles to breathe

As India's capital struggles to breathe, farm fires in neighbouring agrarian states continue to rage.

Despite a ban, the north Indian state of Punjab has crossed the 30,000 mark in stubble burning incidents reported in the last two months.

India tunnel rescue ops enter fifth day

Rescue operations to pull 40 construction works to safety have entered the fifth day in northern India.

The workers have been trapped under the debris of a collapsed under construction tunnel since Sunday in the Himalayan region of Uttarakhand (prono: Oo-tur-a-khun-d).

A heavy machine flown in from the capital city of New Delhi is now being used to dig through the debris and insert wide steel pipes to allow the men to crawl out of the makeshift tunnel.

Eyes on Military Dialogue between US and China in Jakarta

Eyes are on the ASEAN Defence Ministers meeting plus in Jakarta to see whether military to military communications might be back on the table between the US and China.

United Nations Security Council passes Gaza resolution


The United Nations Security Council has called for 'urgent and extended humanitarian pauses' in fighting between Israel and Hamas.


The 15-member council passed a resolution on the situation in the Middle East on Wednesday, after four previous drafts failed. 


According to Gazan officials, more than 11,000 Palestinians have died since fighting began last month.


Israel accuses Hamas of using civilians as human shields.

Closing arguments in lawsuit seeking to remove Trump from Colorado ballot

A lawsuit seeking to prevent former president Donald Trump from running for office in Colorado over his role in the January 6th 2021 assault on the US Capitol is drawing to a close.


A group of voters are arguing that Mr Trump is ineligible to appear on the state's ballot next year based on the U.S. Constitution's 14th Amendment, which bars officials who have engaged in "insurrection or rebellion" from holding public office.

Producer prices fall in US

US producer prices slid half a percent last month, new figures show — that's the biggest drop since early 2020.

Inflation in Italy falls to lowest level since mid-2021


Inflation in Italy fell to 1.7 percent in October, the lowest level since July 2021.

WMO warns of more extreme weather patterns

The World Meteorological Organization warns of more extreme weather
patterns and sea level rise, at least until 2060.

US House passes spending bill excluding aid for Ukraine

President Macron announces support fund for northern France flooding

French president Emmanuel Macron has promised a 50 million euro support fund for the flood hit Pas-de-Calais region in northern France.

France has received a record amount of rainfall. The nation country experienced 26 consecutive days of downpour between 18th October and 12th November, averaging more than 215 millimetres across the country, according to France's meteorological department
