Maine shooter's relatives and army unit warned Sheriff's office about threat


The family of the man who carried out this year's worst mass shooting in the U.S. had warned police five months ago about a decline in his mental health. But he still had access to guns, and shot and killed 18 people at a bar and bowling alley last week in Maine.

Protestors repeatedly interrupted a United States Senate hearing on Israel

Protestors repeatedly interrupted Tuesday's United States Senate hearing on Israel, calling for a ceasefire as they were dragged out by police.

Heavy fighting in Gaza between Israeli troops and Hamas

The Israeli military says it is involved in "large exchanges" with
Hamas in Gaza, as it tries to push further into the enclave.

Israel says its forces have repelled militants who were firing
anti-tank missiles.

It comes after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said it was "a time
for war", and refused calls to push for a ceasefire.

The health ministry in Gaza says it has recorded more than 8,500
deaths from Israel's bombardment in the last 3 weeks.

Pressure grows on Biden to call for Gaza ceasefire

Israel is rejecting calls for a ceasefire, as its military assault on the Gaza Strip continues.


The Israeli Defense Forces say they encountered machine gun fire and anti-tank missiles over the last few hours.


Meanwhile, Egypt is rejecting calls for refugees seeking to flee Gaza to be resettled in the Sinai Peninsula, which Cairo controls.

French inflation cools in October, growth also slows

Inflation in France cooled to 4% in October against 4.9% in September.

Indian opposition leaders claim 'state-sponsored attackers' targeting phones

Several opposition leaders in India claim they have received notifications from Apple that their phones are being targeted by 'state-sponsored attackers'.

Two years ago, India's government was accused of allegedly using the Israeli spyware Pegasus to target critics. The Indian government had denied the allegations then, saying no illegal surveillance was carried out.
