UK HOLDING EMERGENCY TERRORISM MEETING

The UK Prime Minister and the country's Home Secretary are holding an emergency meeting with security officials to discuss the threat of domestic terrorism.

With the war between Hamas and Israel, there are fears the risk of a terror attack within Britain has increased.

US says still hopes for Hamas hostages as Israeli invasion intensifies

Israel appears to be advancing militarily in the Gaza Strip, after a tank was spotted traveling south from Gaza City.


The Israeli government is refusing to comment on the specifics of its ground operations in Gaza, but claims that attacks overnight killed dozens of senior figures from Hamas.


The Hamas-run health authority in Gaza says more than 8,000 people have died as a result of the reprisals for October 7th Hamas assault on Israel.

Luis Rubiales banned by FIFA for 3 years

Russian missile attack injures two, damages ship repair yard in Odesa

Russia launched missiles overnight targeting the port region of Odesa in southern Ukraine. Officials said two people were injured and buildings at a ship repair facility were damaged as a result of the attacks.

The International Criminal Court's top prosecutor has warned that impeding relief aid to Gaza's civilian population could constitute a crime. 


Intense Israeli Airstrikes on Gaza continue with the Hamas-led Health Ministry saying the death toll has risen to over 8,300. 


Sir Mark Lowcock, a former relief coordinator, warns that a failure in providing relief aid means that the greatest threat to life in Gaza may now be as a result of the lack of food and water.

Bangladesh opposition leader arrested amid anti-government clashes

Bangladesh's main opposition leader has been arrested in Dhaka, following mass anti-government protests over the weekend.

Hundreds have been arrested in a police crackdown.

In the last one week alone, at least 3000 anti-government activists have been detained across the country, with critics accusing the Bangladeshi government of cracking down on dissent.

Friends actor Matthew Perry who played Chandler Bing found dead

Maine mass shooting manhunt continues

Police in Maine are continuing to search for a suspect who shot dead
18 people and injured 13 others.

Robert Card has been on the run since Wednesday night's shooting at a
restaurant and bowling alley in the city of Lewiston.

His cell phone and a note have been recovered, but police have not
revealed what was written in the note.

Police divers are also searching an area near to where his car was found.

Lewiston Police Chief David St. Pierre is asking the public to remain
patient as the investigation continues.

Maine manhunt continues -- mass shooting suspect on the loose

The search continues for a suspect alleged to have shot dead 18 people in the US state of Maine on Wednesday. 


In an update on Friday morning, police said they're working 24/7 to find Robert Card, aged 40, who they describe as "armed, dangerous" and at large. 


Hundreds of officers have since joined the manhunt in and around the small city of Lewiston.

UNGA set to vote on a draft resolution on the Middle East
