EAC plans to host Africa, China US business summit

The East African Community plans to host the Africa and China and US Business Summit in 2024. This was discussed in a meeting between the EAC Secretary General, Dr. Peter Mathuki, and the American Chinese CEO Society President, Mr. Robert Sun. The aim is to open up investment opportunities in all EAC partner states.

Death toll in India's Himachal Pradesh rises amid monsoon rain disasters

The death toll due to landslides and flash floods caused by torrential monsoon rains in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh in the past few days has reached more than 70.

Authorities say that the economic cost of the damage stands at over $120 million.

More than 60 feared dead after migrant boat rescue near Cape Verde


38 migrants have been rescued after their boat was spotted near Cape Verde off the coast of west Africa.

The vessel set off from Senegal carrying 101 people, meaning more than 60 are believed to have died while it drifted out at sea.
