U.S. job growth misses estimates

The U.S. unemployment rate has fallen to near 50 year lows despite
weaker than expected job growth last month.

Wages also ticked up which will be of keen interest to the Federal
Reserve and its efforts to cool price pressures.

Two Tennessee lawmakers win back their seats after expulsion

Two Democrats in Tennessee who had been expelled from the state
legislature for participating in a gun control protest have their

Niger cancels military agreements with France

The military junta in Niger, which deposed the West African country's president last week, has scrapped a number of security and defense agreements with France.

France currently has around 1,500 troops in Niger but counter-terrorism operations have been suspended since the ousting of Mohamed Bazoum.

NHS TO USE MORE PRIVATE PROVISION

The UK government says it will expand the use of the private sector to bring down a backlog in the National Health Service.

The plan is designed to unlock spare capacity by allowing the NHS to purchase more care from private firms.

Cop killed in fresh violence in India's Manipur

More than three months since ethnic clashes first began in Manipur, the northeastern region remains restive.

Mobs are now attacking police posts in the region, even as tens of thousands of security forces remain deployed there.

More than 120 people have died in the violence so far. Indian opposition parties have been demanding a discussion on the violence in Parliament and have moved a no-confidence motion against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Indian officials claim normalcy returning after communal clashes near Delhi

US synagogue shooter given death penalty
