Phoenix Heat Wave Sets New Record

Phoenix, Arizona has set a new record, hitting 110 degrees Fahrenheit [43 degrees celsius] for a 19th straight day.

The brutally hot temperatures are expected to continue in Phoenix and across much of the Southern US for at least the next few days.

Dow rises for 7th day amid stronger earnings

The Dow Jones saw its seventh straight day of gains as Wall St
digested better-than-expected earnings results.

Bank stocks boosted US markets, even though investors have been

United Nations warns risk of death from heatwave

The United Nations' weather agency is warning of an increased risk of death due to surging temperatures.


The World Meteorological Organization announced on Tuesday the heatwave being felt around the world was caused by climate change.


Meanwhile, air quality alerts are in place across the US and Canada, caused by hundreds of wildfires.

Trump facing possible third indictment over Jan 6th probe -- as his lawyers fight classified documents case

Former US President Donald Trump could be indicted in connection with a criminal investigation into his efforts to overturn the 2020 election.


Mr Trump on Tuesday confirmed he's received a letter from the Special Counsel leading that investigation, saying the twice-impeached President is the target of the Department of Justice probe. 


Trump calls it a "witch-hunt."

Nigeria’s Government Confirms First Case Of Anthrax Virus

Swatch Sues Malaysian Government Over LGBTQ Watch Seizure


The Swiss watchmaker Swatch says it's filed a lawsuit against the Malaysian government after it seized rainbow-colour watches celebrating LGBT rights from its stores.

United States battles extreme heat and floods

Around a third of the United States remains under heat advisories as the country battles with extreme weather.


Millions of people in the South of the country are facing record temperatures.

Over the weekend, highs of 118 degrees, or 48 celsius, were recorded in Phoenix, Arizona.


Forecasters predict the heat wave could expand this week, while flash floods are also putting lives at risk.
