Doctors say India's diabetes problem a 'ticking time bomb'

A new government backed study has shown that many more Indians have diabetes than previously estimated.

About 100 million Indians have the lifestyle disease, a 44% jump in four years.

Ukraine claims to have evidence Russia destroyed dam

Ukrainian security services claim to have evidence that Russian forces destroyed the Kakhovka dam.

They've released an audio clip purporting to contain a conversation between Russian soldiers in which one voice says a sabotage group carried out the attack.

Russia has denied responsibility.

At least one civilian was killed in shelling in the city of Kherson on Thursday, with Kyiv accusing Moscow of attacking those evacuating from the flooding.

China plans for Cuban base to spy on US

CUE: China has reportedly agreed secretly to pay Cuba billions of dollars to let it operate a spy base on the island, to eavesdrop on American electronic signals.

If built, the facility would be just one hundred miles from Florida, and well placed to monitor military activity in the southeast United States.

S&P 500 enters bull market

US and UK announced “Atlantic Declaration” on PM's visit Stateside

The United States and the United Kingdom have announced an "Atlantic Declaration", described by US President Joe Biden and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak as "a new economic partnership, for a new age."


During a joint press conference in the White House on Thursday, the leaders hailed their nations' so-called "special relationship."

‘Better Call Saul’ actor charged in Jan. 6th Capitol attacks

Four children and two adults stabbed in playground in southern France

Four children and two adults have been injured, some seriously, after being stabbed in a playground in Annecy, in south-eastern France. Police have arrested the suspect.

Three wounded in Kherson evacuation shelling

At least three people have been wounded in shelling in the Ukrainian city of Kherson. Ukrainian officials say the attack happened when people were being evacuated from areas flooded by a dam that was destroyed on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Red Cross warns that floodwater is uprooting mines in the region. Stuart Smith has more from Moscow.
