Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter has been diagnosed with dementia. In a statement, her family said she continues to live at home with her husband - former President Jimmy Carter - and that both are enjoying time with family in Georgia.  Toni Waterman has more.

Debt ceiling deal faces first test

The bipartisan debt ceiling deal agreed by US President Joe Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy over the weekend is set to face its first big test.


It goes before the House Rules Committee on Tuesday afternoon. Hardline conservative members of the 15 person panel have criticised the plan.


The US must pass legislation to increase the debt limit by June 5th to avert a default causing economic disaster.

Tree of Life Synagogue shooting trial begins

The trial is underway for the man accused of killing 11 worshipers at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh.


The shooting in 2018 was the deadliest antisemitic attack in US history.

Drone Attack In Moscow

Authorities in Moscow say nobody was seriously injured in a drone attack, in which 2 buildings sustained minor damage.


Russia's defence ministry has called it a 'terrorist' incident and says it was launched by the Ukrainian government. They claim 8 drones were involved in total, 6 of which were shot down and 2 were forced off course.


In Kyiv the latest air strikes killed one person after several buildings caught fire.

Fresh violence in India's Manipur ahead of interior minister's visit

Saudi in talks with China's so-called "BRICS Bank" in major move to deepen ties

Treasury: US will default on June 5th if no deal reached

The US Treasury has warned the US will run out of money on June 5th if
a deal is not agreed to raise the debt ceiling.
