Events held marking 3 year anniversary of George Floyd death

Events are being held across the United States to mark the third anniversary of the death of George Floyd, which sparked protests across the globe.


Floyd's murder in Minneapolis at the hands of a white police officer led to calls for police reform and opened up conversations about systemic racism.


But campaigners say far more is needed to keep Black communities safe.

UN Pledges $2.4 billion For Horn of Africa

The United Nations has announced a US$2.4 billion pledge to provide life-saving and life-sustaining assistance for nearly 32 million people across the Horn of Africa.

 

The funds will allow humanitarian agencies to sustain aid pipelines of food, water, health care, nutrition, and protection services in Ethiopia, Kenya, and Somalia.

Largest Chinese spying campaign against the U.S uncovered

RUSSIA SIGNS OFF TACTICAL NUCLEAR WEAPONS TRANSFER TO BELARUS

Moscow and Minsk signed a deal on Thursday to allow Russian nuclear weapons on Belarussian territory.

S Korean team concludes ALPs inspection

Turner Turner dies

UN: Fragile ceasefire in the Middle East

The United Nations says while the ceasefire is holding, between Israel and Palestine, talks between the two sides must be encouraged.
In recent weeks, the UN, together with regional and international partners, managed to once again end hostilities between armed factions in Gaza and Israel.

One year since Uvalde shooting


It's a year to the day since 19 children and two teachers were brutally killed in the third-deadliest school shooting in United States history, a shocking and devastating tragedy which has scarred the small town of Uvalde in the U.S. state of Texas. 


On Wednesday evening, a candlelight vigil will be held at the Memorial Park amphitheatre there, to commemorate the lives lost.
