Biden calls on Congress to pass gun reforms following Texas mass shooting

US President Joe Biden has once again called on Congress to pass gun reforms following a shooting at a Texas shopping mall.

Authorities say the suspected gunman killed 8 people, injured 7 others, and then was himself killed by an officer who had been dispatched to the area on a different call.

WHO declares the end of the COVID-19 pandemic

The World Health Organisation has declared COVID-19 no longer a global health emergency, but warns now is not the time to drop our collective guards.

WHO's International Health Regulations Emergency Committee discussed the pandemic on Thursday at its 15th meeting on the health response to COVID 19.

US Attorney General's remarks on Proud Boys verdict

The leader of the far-right group the Proud Boys and three other members have been found guilty of seditious conspiracy over their involvement in the Capitol Hill riot on January 6th 2021.

A fifth person was found guilty of other crimes but not of seditious conspiracy.

The rarely used charge carries a sentence of up to 20 years in prison.

It was also used in the two previous trials relating to January 6th, involving the Oath Keepers - another extremist right-wing group.

The verdicts mark the culmination of US Justice Department investigations into the breach of the US Capitol following the 2020 Presidential election.

Ed Sheeran not guilty in copyright case
