Half of All SIM Cards Facing Deactivation in Philippines

In the Philippines, around half of all mobile phone SIM cards could get cut off from connectivity services under a ban of unregistered cards.

The ban comes into effect on Wednesday as a measure to crackdown on crime.

U.S. demands Russia release prisoners at UN meeting

Death penalty trial of gunman accused of murdering 11 in Pittsburgh synagogue begins

Sikh separatist leader arrested in India

Indian authorities have arrested Amritpal Singh under the stringent National Security Act. He can now be held in detention for upto a year without being charged.

The self-styled Sikh preacher has rallied calls for a separate state of Punjab and had been on the run for over a month.
