DOMINIC RAAB RESIGNS FROM UK GOVERNMENT FOLLOWING BULLYING REPORT

The UK's Deputy Prime Minister, Dominic Raab, has resigned from government - after a report looking into bullying claims was handed to the Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak. The document examined the details of eight accusations. In his resignation letter, Dominic Raab, said he was duty bound to accept the findings of the report…but that it was flawed and that all but two claims were dismissed. DEFENCE MINISTERS MEET IN GERMANY TO TALK UKRAINE WEAPONS

Defence talks are taking place in Germany to help decide if the West will provide additional weaponry to Ukraine.

RSF AGREES TO THREE DAY TRUCE IN SUDAN

The paramilitary RSF group in Sudan says it's agreed to a 72 hour truce.

The army has not yet signed up to the arrangement despite international pressure for a three day truce to mark Eid al-Fitr.

Yellen: US and China need to have "constructive" economic engagement

The US Treasury Secretary says Washington and Beijing need to have "constructive" economic engagement in order to make progress on global challenges including climate change and the war in Ukraine.

In her speech at the Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies in Washington,

Janet Yellen argued Beijing has been striking a more confrontational posture towards the US and its allies in the Indo-Pacific and Europe.

Charges against Alec Baldwin over 'Rust' shooting dropped

Prosecutors in the US state of New Mexico have dropped charges against Alec Baldwin over the shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the movie Rust.


The actor had faced two charges of manslaughter for accidentally shooting Hutchins a year and half ago with a gun that wasn't supposed to be loaded.

WH Smith profits more than double

British high street retailer WH Smith bounced back from a pandemic slump to more than double its profits over the past year. The stationery and books chain with hundreds of stores at airports and train stations will open more than 120 new branches worldwide over the next year, including 50 across North America. Report: Italian officials consider pulling out of BRI agreement with China


Italian officials have hinted they'd consider exiting a trade agreement with Beijing to make a deal with Taipei over semiconductors - that's according to a report from Bloomberg News.

UK student complaints hit new ceiling

University students in England and Wales have made a record number of complaints about their courses for the fourth year in a row. The Office of the Independent Adjudicator received 2,850 reports from unhappy students in 2022 - with Universities paying out more than £1 million in compensation.
