SHIP INSPECTIONS RESUME AT BOSPHORUS STRAIT

Dry cargo ships can once again pass through Turkey's Bosphorus Strait, after two days of negotiations between Moscow, Kyiv, Ankara and the United Nations.

A system of inspections was agreed last year to allow safe passage to and from the Black Sea, where the Russian Navy maintains a war footing.

But inspections recently stopped due to what the United Nations called a "lack of consent between the parties".

Stuart Smith reports from Moscow.

UK INFLATION FALLS SLIGHTLY

UK inflation dipped last month, but only to 10.1%, according to new figures.

That means the annual rate of inflation remains well above targets - partly because of soaring food costs.

Inflation in the year to February was 10.4% and the March figure was expected to fall more sharply.

UK Chancellor Jeremy Hunt insists pressure will ease on families and businesses soon.
