Sudan: US & allies share "deep concern"

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has condemned fighting in Sudan
that has left around a 100 people dead.

Blinken said there is a "shared deep concern" among US allies for the
deteriorating situation in the country.

Air France and Airbus acquitted over 2009 Rio-Paris crash

Air France and Airbus have been acquitted over the 2009 Rio to Paris crash in which 228 people died.

The two aviation companies had denied charges of involuntary manslaughter during a trial in Paris.

RUSSIA'S AMBASSADOR TO UK SUMMONED FOLLOWING KARA-MURZA SENTENCING

UK GOVT URGES NURSES TO CALL OFF STRIKES

The UK government says it won't go back into pay talks with nursing unions unless planned strikes are called off.

4 dead in Alabama shooting

Four people have been killed and several more injured in a shooting in Alabama. 


The incident took place at a 16th birthday party on Saturday night in the small rural town of Dadeville in the east of the state. 


The FBI are assisting with the investigation and the White House is also monitoring the situation.

Japan PM unharmed after explosion at campaign rally

Japan’s prime minister, Fumio Kishida, is unharmed following an explosion at an open-air election rally.


He was evacuated from the area after a cylindrical object was thrown and detonated at a port town near Osaka.

Biden administration asks Supreme Court to rule on abortion pill access

President Joe Biden's administration has filed an emergency application to the Supreme Court, requesting its judges pause a ruling which limits the availability of an abortion pill listed by the World Health Organisation as "essential" and used in more than half of terminations in the US.  


It's the first major case to reach the justices on the matter since they overturned the constitutional right to abortion in June.

Some UK health workers accept pay offer

British health workers at one major union have accepted the government's increased pay offer after several rounds of strikes.
