Security Agencies ordered to take steps to secure sensitive information

U.S. President Joe Biden has directed national security agencies to
take further steps to secure and limit the distribution of sensitive
information, following a leak of classified information.
A young intelligence guardsman from Boston Massachusetts has been
charged for releasing national defense documents to his social media
gaming group.

CashApp founder murder suspect appears in court

The man accused of killing CashApp founder Bob Lee briefly appeared in a San Francisco court before his arraignment was postponed until the week after next.

Biden administration asks Supreme Court to rule on abortion pill access

President Joe Biden's administration has filed an emergency application to the Supreme Court, requesting its judges pause a ruling which limits the availability of an abortion pill listed by the World Health Organisation as "essential" and used in more than half of terminations in the US.  


It's the first major case to reach the justices on the matter since they overturned the constitutional right to abortion in June.

Some UK health workers accept pay offer

British health workers at one major union have accepted the government's increased pay offer after several rounds of strikes. The members include ambulance crews, some nurses and other staff in the health service. EUROPEAN SPACE AGENCY PREPARES TO LAUNCH ROCKET TO JUPITER

Final checks are underway for major space mission to Jupiter. 

The European spacecraft will travel to Jupiter on an 8 year journey to search for alien life. The initial launch suffered a setback Thursday because of bad weather, but engineers say all systems are go for liftoff later Friday.

Florida latest state to pass a 6-week abortion ban

Lawmakers in Florida have voted to ban abortions after 6-weeks, which is usually before a woman even knows she is pregnant.  At least 15 states now have either banned or severely restricted abortion access since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade last June.

Suspect arrested in Pentagon documents leak

The man accused of leaking classified Pentagon documents has been
arrested in the US state of Massachusetts.

The FBI took 21-year-old Jack Teixeira [PRON ter-share-a] into custody
after raiding a home in Dighton, Massachusetts.

He allegedly had security clearance to access the files, which were
then shared on an online gaming site.

Abortion pill remains available in US for now but with restrictions on access

The abortion pill mifepristone will remain available in the US - at least for now. 


A federal appeals court froze parts of a Texas judge's ruling that would have suspended the Food and Drug Administration's approval of the drug but it reinstated other restrictions on access.
