Dalai Lama regrets asking boy to suck his tongue

The Dalai Lama has apologised after a video was circulated showing him kissing a boy on the lips before asking the child to suck his tongue.

In a statement from the Tibetan spiritual leader posted on his Twitter account, the 87-year-old said that he "regrets the incident".

Fox News settled defamation claim with Venezuelan businessman

"Former employee" kills 4 at US bank

Police say they believe a gunman who killed at least four people at a
bank in the US state of Kentucky was a former employee.

Eight others were injured during the attack in downtown Louisville.

The gunman died at the scene.

Shooting in Louisville KY leaves multiple casualties

At least five people, including a police officer, have been killed and several others left injured in a shooting in downtown Louisville in the US state of Kentucky.

At least three killed in a gas explosion in French city of Marseille

French officials are searching for at least eight people believed to be trapped under the rubble of two residential buildings in the port city of Marseille.

A deadly gas explosion tore down the four storey apartment blocks in the early hours of Sunday morning. 

Firefighters have so far recovered three bodies from the ruins.

Rival rulings set the stage for abortion pill showdown

A federal judge in Texas has suspended the FDA's approval of mifepristone, one of the two drugs used in pill abortions. The ruling could pull the medication off pharmacy and physician shelves across the country, even in states where abortions are legal. Almost simultaneously, another federal judge in Washington state ordered the FDA to keep the pills available in 17 states and the District of Columbia.  The rival rulings have now set the stage for an abortion pill showdown...as Toni Waterman explains.

U.S. pace of hiring remains strong in March showing a resilient but muted economy

Tennessee GOP oust Democratic colleague over gun regulation protest

Tennessee Republicans have voted to expel their Democratic colleague Justin Jones from the state's House of Representatives after he, and two other Democrats, joined a protest in favor of stronger gun regulation on the chamber floor last week. The demonstration came just days after six people, including three children, were killed at a Nashville elementary school.  Lawmaker are now debating expelling the other two lawmakers. IMF projects weak global growth for years

Global growth will expand less than 3 per cent this year according to IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, who says medium-term prospects are at their weakest in more than 30 years.
