VIRGIN ORBIT FILES FOR BANKRUPTCY

Billionaire Richard Branson's Virgin Orbit satellite company has filed for bankruptcy in the US.

It says it still hopes to find a buyer for the business but announced last week it was cutting 85% of its workforce.

Virgin Orbit's attempted first ever satellite launch from UK soil failed earlier this year.

Financial analyst Danni Hewson from AJ Bell says the bankruptcy news follows a difficult period for the firm.

Confusion reigns on Twitter over blue tick -- NYT has its badge removed

The New York Times has lost its Twitter verified badge, after refusing to pay for the blue checkmark. 

The social media site's billionaire owner Elon Musk has been pushing $8-per-month Twitter Blue subscription as a way to remain verified on the platform.

Trump travels to NYC for arraignment
