NATO chief urges South Korea to "step up" military support to Ukraine

The Secretary General of the NATO military alliance has called on South Korea to "step up" military support to Ukraine.

South Korea has provided millions of US dollars in humanitarian aid to Kyiv and has imposed sanctions on Moscow over the invasion -- but Seoul has so far stuck to offering non-lethal assistance in line with a longstanding policy of not sending arms to countries at war.

Memphis police beating video leaves many questions unanswered

Footage released of the violent arrest that led to the death of Tyre Nichols shows he repeatedly called out for his mother as police beat him.  

The graphic video shows five former Memphis officers repeatedly kicking and punching Nichols, and hitting him with a baton until he was unconscious.

He does not seem to be resisting arrest.

The Black officers involved have all been charged with second-degree murder, assault, and kidnapping, among other charges.

And while the swift release of the video is being praised - it leaves many questions unanswered, as Toni Waterman explains from Memphis.

Police footage released of attack on former US House of Representatives speaker's husband

A San Francisco court has released police body camera footage showing an intruder attacking Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi's husband Paul with a hammer in the 82-year-old's home in late October last year. 

The suspect, David DePape, faces numerous felony charges in state court, including attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. He pleaded not guilty, but if convicted, he would face the possibility of life in prison.

Memphis braces for outrage as “heinous” police beating video is released

Officials in the US city of Memphis are bracing for outrage and protests on Friday when law enforcement releases a violent video of an encounter between police and a black motorist that ended in his death.

Twenty-nine-year-old Tyre (PRONO: Tie-ree) Nichols died three days after he was pulled over and beaten by five black officers earlier this month.

Those officers have all been fired and charged with second-degree murder, assault, and kidnapping.
