AMBULANCE WORKERS STRIKE IN ENGLAND AND WALES
The government's asking people only to call for an ambulance in an emergency and says the strikes in England and Wales are 'regrettable'.
Unions say the industrial action is necessary because of ministers' refusal to negotiate on bigger pay rises than currently on offer for health workers.
Health Secretary Steve Barclay says the lack of a national plan from unions to guarantee minimum service levels for the strike shows why legislation is needed.
