The United States is considering placing Covid-19 restrictions on
people traveling from China.

This comes after Beijing announced it would open its borders again in January.

President may face his predecessor in court

COST OF SEEING A DOCTOR COULD DOUBLE IN FRANCE

The cost of seeing a general practitioner in France could double in the near future, on the back of a strike of around 30 percent of the country's family doctors.


GPs say the government set price cap for a standard appointment hasn't changed in around 20 years- with France's health minister coming out to say he regrets the decision of those who have chosen to strike.

UK BORDER FORCE STRIKE BEGINS

Border force staff are on strike in the UK over pay and conditions.

The industrial action will last until the end of the year.

Civil servants and military personnel have been drafted in to cover striking workers at airports and ports.

Death toll from flash floods rises in the Philippines

At least 25 people have died and 26 others are missing after rains triggered flash floods in the Philippines.

Sixteen of the 25 deaths were reported in the Northern Mindanao region in the south, while 12 of the 26 missing are from the eastern Bicol region, according to officials.

RUSSIA BANS SELLING OIL TO PRICE CAP COUNTRIES

President Vladimir Putin has banned the sale of Russian oil to any nation enforcing a price cap on its exports from February next year.

Earlier in December EU countries, Australia, and the G7 nations agreed to spend no more than 60 US dollars per barrel from Russia.

The scheme is meant to minimise Russian profits while preventing a global price shock. But Russia warned there would be retaliation.

Transport Dept. looking into Southwest flight delays and cancellations

The U.S. Department of Transportation says it is looking into Southwest Airlines massive number of flight cancellations, delays and poor customer service.
The airline experienced far more disruptions to its schedules than other airlines following Friday's bad winter storms.

Rohingya asylum seekers dock in Indonesia after drifting in sea for weeks

Taliban ban on women working for NGOs hits relief work in Afghanistan

White House slams Xmas eve migrant buses from Texas

The White House has slammed Texas Governor Gregg Abbott after more than 100 migrants were bussed from the South Western border to Vice President Kamala Harris's DC residence.

The asylum seekers were deposited at the Naval Observatory in the US capital in freezing conditions on Christmas Eve.
