UK PM Resigns

Liz Truss has resigned from her role as UK Prime Minister saying that she could not deliver the mandate she had promised.


Her resignation makes her the Prime Minister with the shortest tenure in British history.

UK Prime Minister resigns, new leadership election to take place over the next week

Liz Truss has announced her resignation from her role as Prime Minister after only 6 weeks in the job.


Her announcement comes after she received heavy criticism over her economic policies and subsequent u-turns.


Opposition Labour Party leader Sir Keir Starmer has demanded a general election.


But despite his demand, a Conservative leadership election will now take place next week.

American woman pleads guilty to causing British teen's death after driving on the wrong side of the road

An American woman has admitted responsibility for the death of a British teenager in a case that had caused a diplomatic row between the US and UK governments.


Anne Sacoolas pleaded guilty to death by careless driving at the Old Bailey in London via video link.


19 year-old Harry Dunn was killed in a crash outside a US military base in England in 2019.

Eurozone inflation narrowly escapes double digits after data revision

Annual inflation in the 19 countries which use the Euro currency stood at 9.9% in September, according to new data from the European Union's statistics agency.


That's marginally lower than flash estimates released last month, but still the highest level in the history of the single currency.
