More voters say they intend to vote Republican in U.S. midterm elections

The U.S. midterm elections are three weeks away, and a new poll gives
Republicans the edge.

The survey by the New York Times found the economy is by far the top
issue on voters' minds.

EU sanctions Iranian minister, morality police over protest crackdown and Mahsa Amini death

The European Union has imposed new sanctions on eleven people and four entities in Iran which the bloc says are responsible for the death of Mahsa Amini and subsequent human rights violations.


Demonstrations erupted in Iran after 22-year-old Mahsa Amini died in detention last month. The EU accuses Iranian authorities of violently repressing peaceful protesters.

Scotland's Nicola Sturgeon sets out economic vision for independence

EU ministers set to back sanctions over protest crackdown in Iran
