TRUSS HOLDS TALKS WITH OBR

UK Prime Minister Liz Truss is holding talks on Friday with the independent fiscal watchdog after criticism of her government's tax plans.

The Office for Budget Responsibility has confirmed that it could have produced a draft economic forecast in time for the so-called mini-budget last week - but the Chancellor didn't ask for one.

That decision has been blamed in part for turmoil on financial markets.

Former Conservative minister Ed Vaizey says Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng must make his next update to plans much earlier than the planned date of November 23rd.
