Pakistan's Famous Mohenjo Daro Ruins Collapse due to Torrential Rains

Pakistan's unprecedented heavy rainfall which has killed hundreds of people, is now threatening a renowned archaeological site.

The ruins of Mohenjo Daro date back 4,500 years. It has UNESCO world heritage site status, and is among the best preserved urban settlements in South Asia.

June-August this year was officially Europe's hottest summer on record

The summer this year was the hottest one Europe has ever experienced.

New data from the EU's environment observation centre show that at a global level, August 2022 was the joint warmest August on record.

SCIENTISTS HAIL NEW MALARIA VACCINE

UK scientists say a new vaccine could reduce global deaths from malaria by 70 percent by the end of the decade.

It's been developed by the University of Oxford and is cheaper and more effective than previous vaccines.

UN meeting accuses Russia of torturing Ukrainians in "filtration" camps

The United Nations has heard how Russia is using "filtration" centers
to detain, torture and sometimes make Ukrainian civilians, displaced
by conflict, disappear.

As many as 1.7 million people are thought to have been processed in
such camps - although Russia denies the accusations.

WFP grains from Ukraine arrive in Ethiopia

23,000 metric tonnes of grain imported from Ukraine have arrived in Ethiopia . The ship from the Black Sea docked in Djibouti from where the grains were offloaded and transported to Ethiopia in 60 trucks .
This humanitarian consignment, the first to Africa  is as a result of a deal by Russia and IUkraine to allow for export of grains , that was brokered by the United Nations and Turkiye.
