Ousted Trump critic Cheney hints at Presidential bid

Ousted Republican Trump-critic Liz Cheney says she is "thinking about"
running for President in 2024.

Congresswoman Cheney lost her primary election in the US state of

Trump critic Liz Cheney loses primary election

Outspoken Trump critic Representative Liz Cheney has lost her primary
election in the US state of Wyoming.

Cheney was defeated by the Trump-backed candidate Harriet Hageman, a
political newcomer.

Cheney's defeat is the former president's most significant victory in

believe he won the 2020 election.

Eurozone GDP growth slightly lower than predicted in second quarter

GDP growth across the 19 countries which use the euro currency stood at 0.6% for the second quarter. 


That's slightly below the 0.7% growth previously predicted by the EU's statistics agency.

Blackout Looms As Nigeria Electricity Workers Threaten Indefinite Strike

The National Union of Electricity Employees in Nigeria has threatened to go on Strike by the end of Wednesday over pending labour issues that include pay and welfare of workers

 

The union had on May 18th issued a 14-day ultimatum to the Management of the Transmission Company of Nigeria, which is responsible for transmitting generated power across the country, threatening to stop work at the expiration of the ultimatum if its grievances were not addressed.

Biden signs key climate legislation into law

US President Joe Biden has signed a bill into law which will provide
hundreds of billions of dollars to help fight climate change.

The White House describes the Inflation Reduction Act as the largest
climate investment in American history.

It also extends health insurance subsidies and raises taxes on
America's biggest corporations.

The act took a year and a half to negotiate through Congress and is
seen as a big win for President Biden, who cut short his vacation to
attend the signing ceremony in Washington.

UN chief to visit Ukraine to observe grain shipments
