EU sanctions on Russian coal come into force

A ban on importing coal from Russia is now in force across the European Union.


It comes as the bloc scrambles to source alternative fossil fuel suppliers, with countries trying to wean themselves off of dependence on Moscow.

Flights to Hong Kong surge on COVID-19 quarantine relaxation

FDA authorizes plan to stretch monkeypox vaccine doses

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has announced a new strategy to
try to stretch the country's short supply of monkeypox vaccines.

Health providers will now be able to split doses, in the hopes of
vaccinating up to five times as many people against the virus.

The country has become the global epicenter of the outbreak, with
close to 9000 known cases as of Tuesday, and no sign of slowing.

UK energy bills price cap set to rise even higher in January

Anxious wait begins after EU puts forward “take it or leave it” Iran nuclear deal text

Officials in Brussels are awaiting comments on a "take it or leave it" compromise text aimed at reviving the Iran nuclear deal. 


After days of mediating indirect talks in Vienna between Tehran and Washington, the European Union said decisions must now be taken in capitals.


The Iran nuclear deal, under which sanctions on Iran were eased in exchange for restrictions on its nuclear activities, has been on life support since the US withdrew in 2018.

China conducts second round of military drills around Taiwan with no end date
