Many companies in Europe's biggest economy say they are having to cut back business activity because they don't have enough staff.

China conducts military drills off southern coast amid possible Pelosi visit

China has promised a strong military response to US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's expected arrival in Taiwan on Tuesday.

The country is conducting military exercises off the coast of southern Fujian province, just across the strait from Taiwan.

Biden confirms al Qaeda leader's killing in Afghanistan

The US has killed the leader of al Qaeda with a drone strike in the Afghan capital Kabul.


The CIA carried out the operation targeting Ayman  al-Zawahiri, who has led the terrorist network since 2011 following the US killing of Osama bin Laden.

 President Biden says the leader of Al Qaeda, Ayman al-Zawahiri, was killed in a weekend drone strike in Afghanistan.

The President says the killing demonstrates that terrorists who attack American interests will find no hiding place from the long reach of US intelligence.


Ayman al-Zawahiri had a $25 million CIA bounty on his head, and was one of America’s most wanted terrorists since the September 11th attacks on New York and Washington in 2001.

Reports: US kills Ayman Al-Zawahiri, who inherited leadership of Al Qaeda from bin Laden

President  Biden is poised to announce what the White House is calling a successful anti-terrorism operation.


Multiple reports suggest that the US killed prominent Al Qaeda leader Aymam al-Zawahiri in a drone strike in Afghanistan.

Far-right militia member sentenced to 87 months for role in Jan. 6th attack

Guy Reffitt - a member of the far-right militia group the Three Percenters - has been sentenced to more than 7 years in prison for his involvement in the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol.

The sentence is the longest given to a rioter thus far, but much lighter than the 15 years federal prosecutors were seeking.

Reffitt, who is from Wylie, Texas, is the first Capitol rioter convicted at trial.
