Russia again reduces flow of energy to Europe, citing required "maintenance" on pipeline

Russia is reducing gas supplies to Europe again…saying more maintenance work needs to be done on the Nord Stream 1 pipeline.


The Russians say supply will be reduced to just 20 percent of the pipeline's capacity…earlier this month the Russians closed the pipeline down completely for 10 days.


The EU says Russia is engaged in energy blackmail of the Continent.

"Goodfellas" star Paul Sorvino dead at 83

The actor Paul Sorvino has died at the age of 83.


He played Paulie Cicero in the mob classic "Goodfellas", and was also a star of the TV drama "Law and Order".


Born in 1939 in Brooklyn, he made his Broadway debut in 1964 and starred in his first film 6 years later.


In an appearance at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2015 he spoke about the difficulties he encountered transforming himself into a mobster on the set of  "Goodfellas".

Trump set to return to Washington for first time since leaving presidency

Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov in Uganda for Trade Cooperation

French president to make a visit to Africa amid food security crisis

The French president is heading to Cameroon on Monday for the start of a short tour of three countries in West Africa.

EU countries divided over winter gas emergency plan

Plans to cut gas consumption across the European Union are proving contentious among the bloc's 27 member states.


The European Commission last week unveiled proposals for a 15% consumption reduction across the bloc to cushion the blow of potential disruptions in Russian gas supplies. On Monday, European Union ambassadors are expected to debate the way ahead.


Russian energy giant Gazprom has fully or partially cut gas deliveries to twelve EU countries.

'Oak Fire' continues to burn through California

Jury finds Steve Bannon guilty on both counts of contempt of Congress

Former Donald Trump advisor Steve Bannon has been found guilty of
contempt of Congress.

He now faces a possible jail sentence for defying a subpoena from a

Bannon convicted of contempt of Congress, faces possible jail term

Steve Bannon, Donald Trump's political strategist, has been convicted of "contempt of Congress" over his refusal to appear before a Congressional committee investigating last year's insurrection by Trump supporters on Capitol Hill.


Jury deliberations took less than three hours and Mr Bannon now faces the possibility of  thousands of dollars in fines fines and up to two years in jail.
