Blast at Texas LNG plant threatens to further strain global supplies

An explosion at a liquified natural gas plant in Texas is worsening concerns about global gas shortages as countries in Europe and elsewhere turn their backs on Russian supplies.

The US was supposed to help fill the gap.

But now Freeport LNG, which operates one of the largest U.S. export plants, says the plant will be shut for at least three weeks.

Two Britons, one Moroccan sentenced to death in pro-Russian eastern Ukraine

Two men from Britain and one from Morocco have been sentenced to death by a court in the pro-Russian eastern region of Ukraine for their role fighting with Ukrainian forces.

The men volunteered…they are not mercenaries.

One of their lawyers says they plan to appeal.

The British government says they are prisoners of war and should be afforded that status by the Russians.
