UK URGES MONKEYPOX ISOLATION FOR CLOSE CONTACTS

UK officials are advising close contacts of monkeypox cases to self-isolate for 21 days.

20 cases have been confirmed in the UK so far, but a significant rise in infections is expected this week.

Monkeypox is a viral infection most common in parts of Central and West Africa, but dozens of cases have been reported in Europe, North America, Israel and Australia.

Virologist, Professor Paul Hunter, says this outbreak is unusual.

Musk denies sexual misconduct claim

Tesla and Space X CEO Elon Musk has denied a claim that he sexually harassed a flight attendant aboard a private jet in 2016.


According to a report on the website Business Insider, Space X paid the accuser $250,000 not to file a lawsuit over the alleged incident.

Biden lands in South Korea, visits semiconductor manufacturing plant

President Biden has kicked-off a 4-day tour of Asia in South Korea.


He visited a Samsung factory where semiconductors are manufactured.


The company is committed to building a similar plant in Texas, due to come on line late in 2024.

Nine confirmed cases of monkeypox in UK as disease spreads to Australia

At least nine cases of Monkeypox have now been confirmed in the UK, according to the World Health Organisation.
