US Senate Approves Aid Package for Ukraine

The United States Senate has approved a 40 billion dollar emergency aid package for Ukraine. 

President Biden is expected to quickly sign the bill into law.

US welcomes Finland and Sweden NATO membership application

US President Joe Biden says "Finland and Sweden make NATO stronger" as he welcomed the leaders of both countries to the White House. 


The Scandinavian nations have applied to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation in the wake of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. 


It's a decision that would end Sweden's centuries-long military non-alignment, after its Prime Minister admitted Europe was now living in a dangerous new reality.

Nigerian Court Denies Bail Application for Separatist Leader

A Nigerian court has denied bail for Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of separatist group the Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB.

21-year-old Russian solider admits to shooting 62-year-old Ukrainian civillian

A 21-year-old Russian soldier has pleaded guilty to fatally shooting a 62-year-old Ukrainian man near Kyiv.

European officials "closely monitoring" Monkeypox clusters

US markets post worse day since 2020 on inflation fears

White House warns of North Korea tests during Biden Asia trip

The White House says there is a "genuine possibility" North Korea will
carry out a missile or nuclear test during President Joe Biden's trip
to Asia later this week.

Biden is making this first trip as President to the Indo-Pacific, with
