The creators of a pro-military Telegram channel have claimed responsibility for attacking a 2021 Nobel Peace Prize winner and ex editor-in-chief of independent Russian newspaper, Novaya Gazeta.

In a statement Dmitry Muratov said he was travelling on a train when an unknown person entered his compartment and threw red paint and acetone at him, while shouting "Muratov, here's one for our boys".

Top Russian officials admits "significant losses" in Ukraine

The Kremlin's spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, has admitted that Russian forces have suffered "significant losses" in Ukraine.
