US trial for Parkland gunman who killed 17

The trial is underway in the US state of Florida to decide if a gunman
who killed 17 high school students and teachers will receive the death
penalty.

Nikolas Cruz pleaded guilty to the 2018 Parkland murders.

UK charity helping survivors of torture says more Ukrainians could be helped if visa scheme was better

Russian forces have been accused of killing civilians in Ukraine, following the recapture of Bucha a town just outside of Kyiv. 


The Kremlin has denied that its military carried out any killings in the town.


But it's not the first instance that Russia has been accused of carrying out war crimes since it began its invasion of Ukraine.


Sonya Sceats is the CEO of the UK charity Freedom From Torture.


She says there are organisations in the UK waiting to help those who have been impacted.


But says the British government's visa programme has gotten in the way.

US to call for Russia's removal from UN Human Rights Council

The United States says it will ask the United Nations to remove Russia
from the Human Rights Council following allegations of mass civilian

French president urges new sanctions on Russia after Bucha attack in Ukraine

The French president has denounced what he called "a war crime" in Ukraine, as he echoed international condemnation after the retreat of Russian forces in the town of Bucha led to the discovery of hundreds of civilian bodies.

"The images are unbearable. There is clearly suspicion of war crimes," Emmanuel Macron told French media on Monday.

EU mulls fresh sanctions amid reports of Russian war crimes in Bucha

Faced with no-confidence vote, Pakistan PM calls for fresh elections
