US markets react to Ukraine conflict & upcoming interest rate decision

The S&P and Nasdaq closed lower on Monday as investors continue to
watch the fallout from the conflict in Ukraine.

An upcoming decision on interest rates by the Federal Reserve is also
having an impact on trading.

OSCE warns accuses Russia of 'state terrorism' in Ukraine

The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe has told the

Julian Assange denied permission to appeal US extradition

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has been denied permission to appeal against his extradition to the US by the UK's Supreme Court.


In December last year, the high court made the decision to grant his extradition to the US where he could face up to 175 years in prison if found guilty.

Oil dips below $100 a barrel

The price of oil tumbled more than 8% on Monday, as investors weigh signals from Russia that it may be open to serious negotiations over Ukraine.

GERMANY TO BUY AMERICAN F-35 FIGHTER JETS: REPORTS

The German Government is reportedly preparing to place an order for American-made fighter jets as part of its promise to bolster its military following Russia's attack on Ukraine. 

Under the proposed plans, stealth jets will be acquired to replace an aging fleet of aircraft that date back to the 1980s.

Netherlands and Australia launch new legal action against Russia over MH17

The Netherlands and Australia have initiated joint legal action against Russia through the International Civil Aviation Organisation over the downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 in 2014.


The aircraft was hit while flying over rebel-held Eastern Ukraine by what a team of international investigators say was a Russian-made missile. 


Moscow denies involvement in the 2014 disaster, which killed all those on board.

3k Ukrainians now granted visas to live in the UK

UK families are being asked by the government to consider opening their homes up to Ukrainian refugees fleeing the Russian invasion.

NIGERIA SEIZES THREE MILLION OPIOID CAPSULES

Nigeria's Drug Law enforcement agency says it has seized three million opioids.

 

Officials of the agency say the seizure followed a similar operation in which eight thousand six hundred and thirteen kilograms of cannabis smuggled in from Ghana was intercepted.

Russia seeks to export more oil to India

EU "concerned" about use of death penalty in Saudi Arabia following mass executions
