60 Local Vigilante Operatives Killed by Criminal Gangs in Nigeria’s Kebbi State

About 60 local vigilante operatives have been killed by members of criminal gangs in Nigeria's northwest state of Kebbi.

 

The state is one among others in the country with security concerns such as kidnapping for ransom and cattle rustling.

More aid for Ethiopia's conflict region

Ethiopia has received more humanitarian aid targeting the displaced people in its Northern region.USAID has delivered over 250 metric tons of supplies to the International Organisation for Migration - targeting the displaced in areas of Amhara and Afar region. The UN says over 2 million people are in need of immediate assistance in these two areas plus Tigray. Over a year now the region is still affected by a conflict between the government and the Rebel group the Tigray People's Liberation Front.

Plethora of economic sanctions imposed on Russia is working, says UK MP

The UK is increasing the number of economic sanctions imposed on Russia because of its invasion of Ukraine.


It's introducing new powers to detain private jets owned by Russian oligarchs and stopping them from flying in British airspace.

Texas Militia Member Guilty on All Counts

EU to cut dependence on Russian gas by two thirds
