January-February Trade Jumps Between Russia and China

Trade between China and Russia grew by 38.5% in January through to February compared to a year ago as the two countries have grown closer economically with one another.

The figure far outpaced China's 15.9% increased in total trade for the period.

Wall St drops further over Ukraine

Wall St took another hit during Monday's trading amid continuing fears
over Ukraine and rising oil prices.

The Dow fell almost 800 points in another torrid session, while the
S&P had its biggest single day decline in almost two years.

Pentagon: no existing plans to backfill fighters jets that Poland may send to Ukraine

The Pentagon says it's too early to say whether the United States will resupply Poland or any other NATO country that decides to provide fighter jets to the Ukrainian Air Force.


Pentagon spokesman John Kirby was asked about reports that the Biden administration has made plans to back-fill and jets sent to Ukraine by its NATO neighbors.

Latest Ukraine / Russia talks break up without major progress

Another round of talks between Russian and Ukrainian officials has ended with no major progress on the creation of humanitarian corridors in Ukraine.


Once again today, the Russian shelled civilians after a ceasefire was due to come into force.

US President Biden yet to decide whether to ban Russian oil imports

US President Joe Biden has not yet made a decision over whether to ban oil imports from Russia.


The White House says that discussions on the matter are continuing both internally and with allies.

Biden talks with Johnson, Macron, Scholtz

US President Joe Biden has spoken with the leaders of Germany, France and UK in an effort to "reaffirm their commitment to sanctioning Russia" in the wake of its invasion into Ukraine.


The four nations are amongst those that have imposed a series of sanctions on Moscow in past weeks, aimed at crippling the Russian economy.

Zelensky dismisses Russian demands as an "ultimatum"

The Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov and Ukraine's foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba are to meet face-to-face on Thursday in the southern Turkish city of Antalya.


The Kremlin insisted today there can only be a cessation of hostilities if Ukraine recognizes Russian sovereignty over Crimea and Eastern Ukraine….agrees never to join NATO or the European Union….and agrees to full demilitarization.

Fresh effort to implement Ukraine ceasefire ignored again by Russia

The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has dismissed Moscow's insistence that Ukrainians fleeing the fighting must seek safety in Russia and Belarus.


The French President Emmanuel Macron also today poured scorn on the idea.


Intense Russian bombardment of the cities of Mariupol and Kharkiv is continuing, and there's been more shelling of Irpen just 25 kilometers from Kyiv.

200 thousand more have entered Moldova where the country's President says his tiny nation won't be able to accommodate many more.

NYC lifts vaccine requirements for indoor settings

UN top court hears Ukraine's arguments against Russia in genocide case

US considers Russian Oil imports ban and is in talks with Poland over jets to Ukraine
