Jan 6 committee allege Trump broke the law & first defendant stands trial over attack
Former US president Donald Trump broke the law in trying to overturn the 2020 election, according to the democratic-led House select committee investigating the January 6th assault on the US Capitol.
<It says it has evidence that Mr Trump tried to illegally obstruct Congress' counting of electoral votes. >

No progress after latest Macron-Putin call
The French and Russian presidents have held another phone call, as efforts continue by western allies to try to stop the war in Ukraine.
In a speech to the nation on Wednesday, Emmanuel Macron said he would continue to talk to Vladimir Putin in the hope that dialogue would help end the invasion.

Australia – Stolen Generation survivors to receive payout
