US regulators grant full approval to Moderna jab

The US Food and Drug administration has given Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine full approval, paving the way for more possible vaccine mandates.

The move comes as coronavirus cases continue to decline in the US following the Omicron surge.

Trump allies recoil at suggestion of “pardons” for Jan 6 rioters

One of Donald Trump's most loyal allies is slamming his suggestion that, if re-elected, he may pardon January 6th rioters.

South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham called the idea "inappropriate."

More than 730 people have been charged in connection to the storming of the Capitol, which left more than 100 police officers injured and multiple dead.

Eurozone rebounds in 2021 but Omicron slows Q4 growth

A first estimate of annual growth in GDP from the EU's statistics agency, points to a GDP increase of more than 5% compared to the previous year, marking a strong rebound since 2020.

But growth in the final quarter of the year was hampered by the reimposition of restrictions across much of the EU - led by concerns over the Omicron variant.

EU sends top official to Ukraine in show of support amid tensions with Russia

Tensions between Moscow and Kyiv appear to show no sign of easing, with an estimated 100,000 Russian troops massed near Ukraine. Opposition parties corner the Indian government over alleged use of Pegasus spyware

UN report says Taliban have killed scores of former Afghan officials and others
