North Korea fires two suspected missiles in 6th launch this year

North Korea has fired two suspected missiles towards the Sea of Japan, marking the sixth launch this year. Tensions have been ratcheting higher as Pyongyang vows to bolster its defences in defiance of US and UN sanctions.

Normandy talks on Ukraine end with no breakthrough

Talks hosted by France aimed at defusing tensions over Ukraine ended after eight-and-a-half hours.


The four-way conversation between the French, Germans, Russians and Ukrainians failed to find a breakthrough.

U.S. stocks drop following Fed meeting

Federal Reserve signals interest rate rise in mid-March to ease inflation

The U.S. Federal Reserve has not yet changed interest rates after two days of meetings, but it has signaled intention to raise them in mid-March.

Prince Andrew denies being Epstein co-conspirator, demands jury trial

WTO allows China to slap tariffs on US imports

The United States has hit back against the Geneva based World Trade Organization after it ruled in favour of allowing China to levy $645 million dollars worth of tariffs on US imports.

A spokesperson for the U.S. Trade Representative's office said the decision was "deeply disappointing" and showed the need for WTO reforms.

GERMAN LAWMAKERS DEBATE VACCINE MANDATE

EU Commissioner visits Ukraine in show of support amid surging tensions

As tensions surge along Russia's borders with Ukraine, the European Union has once again affirmed its solidarity with the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity. DOWNING STREET AWAITS GRAY REPORT

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson's bracing for a leadership challenge over a series of parties it's claimed broke covid lockdown rules.

Police are now investigating whether any events in and around Downing Street over the last two years were illegal.

And an independent investigation by civil servant Sue Gray into parties held by officials is also set to be published imminently.

A number of Conservative MPs have signalled they could mount a leadership challenge at that point.
