Uganda COVID Infections Out of Control

Uganda's Ministry of Health has reported a Covid-19 positivity rate of 22 percent, the highest ever recorded rate since the outbreak of the pandemic in March last year.

 

Previously, the country had registered 21.5 percent as its uppermost positivity rate at the peak of the second wave in June.

Belgian gvt u-turn over culture sector closures

Theatres, cinemas and concert halls in Belgium can reopen from today (Thursday), just a week after the government ordered them to close in order to contain the surging Omicron Covid-19 variant. 


Following an appeal by a theatre technician to the Council of State, the country's supreme administrative court called the closure of the cultural sector "disproportionate" and concluded that it "lacked justification."
