It's been two months since German voters went to the polls and overwhelmingly decided to give Olaf Scholz and the Social Democrats a mandate to form the next government.

Talks between the SPD and future government partners appear to be wrapping up ... and a formal announcement about what Germany's next government will look is expected later today.

France mulls tightening health controls over fifth wave of Covid-19

France is considering tightening its health controls as the country suffers a surge in coronavirus infections.

30,000 people tested positive for the disease on Tuesday/November 23rd.

GOVT DENIES LOOMING LEADERSHIP CHALLENGE FOR BORIS JOHNSON

Several back-bench Conservative lawmakers have reportedly sent letters of no confidence in the leadership of UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

The Sun reports around a dozen letters have been sent - although 54 would be needed to trigger a confidence vote.

It follows weeks of criticism for Boris Johnson's government on issues from sleaze, to tax, and policy on transport and healthcare.

But cabinet minister Dominic Raab says he's not expecting any move against the Prime Minister's leadership.

India to introduce a bill blocking most cryptocurrencies in the country

Japan to join US and others in oil reserves release

Japan will join the United States, China and others in a coordinated release of oil reserves in an attempt to bring down soaring fuel prices.

The move marks the first such release from state stockpiles outside of the occurrence of a natural disaster or political turmoil.

Jury finds Charlottesville rally organizers liable for $26 million

A federal jury has found the organizers of a far right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia liable for millions of dollars in damages.

One woman was killed and dozens injured when a car drove into a crowd of counter protesters at the 2017 event.

Third Hong Kong activist jailed under national security law

Apple sues Israeli surveillance firm NSO Group

Apple has filed a lawsuit against the Israeli surveillance firm the NSO Group over products targeting Apple users.

WhatsApp's parent company Meta recently filed a similar lawsuit against NSO, which sells spyware to governments.

The man accused of driving his car into a Christmas parade in
Wisconsin, killing 5 people and injuring 48 others, is appearing in

US warns of terrorist attack in Ethiopia

New Covid guidance in UK -- but no lockdown

Parkland shooting victims' families to receive millions of dollars over FBI failure

Families of the victims of the school shooting in Parkland, Florida, are to receive about 130 million dollars from the US justice department.


They sued over the F.B.I.'s failure to properly investigate tips warning about the gunman in the months before he killed 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
