Space debris forces astronauts to shelter

US and Russian officials have confirmed that there has been a debris generating event in outer space, and US officials have suggested that it may have been caused by a Russian weapons test.

Seven astronauts on the International Space Station were forced to take shelter as a result.

Bannon surrenders to face charges of contempt of Congress

Donald Trump's former political adviser Stephen Bannon is now in custody after turning himself in on charges of contempt of Congress.


Mr. Bannon was indicted by a Grand Jury after he ignored a subpoena requiring him to give evidence to a Congressional committee investigating the January 6th violent insurrection on Capitol Hill by Trump supporters.


Moments before surrendering to the FBI's Washington field office, he directed a defiant message to his supporters via his own video livestream.

Covid booster shots advised in UK

All over-40s in the UK should be offered a third dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, according to the British government's vaccination advisers.


The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation also said that 16 and 17-year-olds should now receive a second dose, having so far only been offered a first.
