UK Prime Minister says COP26 promises will be useless if there is no action

Day two of the COP26 Global Climate Summit is coming to an end and many of the world's leaders are leaving.


But thousands of experts and negotiators remain to discuss and come up with solutions to keep the rise of the Earth's temperature below 1.5C.


UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson says it's simply a matter of "life and death".

Facebook Ends Facial Recognition System

Cop 26: More than 80 nations pledge methane cuts

At the Cop26 climate conference in Glasgow More than 80 countries have now agreed to cut global emissions of methane by 30 per cent by the end of the decade.


The proposals were endorsed jointly by the US and the EU…though some environmentalists say they don't go far enough.


And 100 countries have agreed to end and reverse deforestation by the year 2030.


President Biden called that plan the first of its kind.

The British Prime Minister, meanwhile, has apologized to Israel's energy minister after she was unable to gain access to the Cop26 meeting on Monday.


Karine Elharrar has muscular dystrophy, is wheelchair bound and could find no accessible entrance to the summit on its first day.


Boris Johnson apologized during a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett.

Antonio Conte becomes new Tottenham manager

Israeli minister unable to access COP26 due to disability now safely inside summit

The UK has apologised after a minister from Israel couldn't attend the opening day of the COP26 summit because the transport provided was unsuitable for wheelchair users.

WORLD LEADERS SIGN DEFORESTATION PLEDGE

More than 100 world leaders at Cop26 in Glasgow are signing up to an agreement to halt and reverse deforestation by 2030.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson says it'll support the goal of restricting global warming to 1.5 celsius because forests absorb carbon emissions.
