Moderna requests half dose COVID booster approval from FDA

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration advisory panel is hearing from Modera on Thursday, about a request to authorise half-dose COVID-vaccines for people 65 and older, as well as for younger adults who are at high risk of severe illness.

More people are getting the initial doses of the COVID vaccines in the U.S, as vaccine mandates are introduced.

Extra healthcare funding announced in England

The government has told General Practitioners in England to see more patients face-to-face, as ministers unveil a £250m ($340m) rescue package.

GERMAN POLITICIANS DISCUSS CANNABIS LEGALISATION

Several politicians in Germany have called for the legalisation of cannabis, saying such a move could generate additional tax revenue and protect consumers.

UK/EU NI NEGOTIATIONS BEGIN

UK and EU negotiators are beginning talks on proposals for changes to the post-Brexit Northern Ireland Protocol.

Brussels has suggested a number of ways of easing checks on goods and supplies moving from Great Britain to Northern Ireland.

The UK also wants oversight of post-Brexit rules in Northern Ireland by the European Court of Justice removed, but Brussels says that's not possible.

The EU says it hopes a deal can be reached to ease tensions caused by the Northern Ireland protocol by the end of the year.

UK finance minister Rishi Sunak says London will study the proposals carefully.

Port of Los Angeles Starting 24-7 Operation

European Commission sets out proposals on Northern Ireland Protocol


The European Commission says it wants to cut customs paperwork for goods moving between Great Britain and Northern Ireland in half.

An electronic cigarette has been authorised as 'appropriate for the protection of public health' by the US Federal Drug Administration for the first time.

Telecom Giant MTN-Uganda sells 20% Shares
